Like the cookie dough cheesecake flavor of this brand, I had high hopes for the Ansi peanut butter cheesecake bar. The flavor sounded pretty amazing and the packaging looked appealing. So did the cookie dough flavor though, and that bar ended up sucking. Did I meet similar disappointment with this flavor? Find out below.
Ansi Peanut Butter Cheesecake Review
Short answer… Yes. While I found this bar maybe a TAD more enjoyable than the cookie dough flavor, the Ansi peanut butter cheesecake bar was largely disappointing as a whole. There was a faint hint of peanut buttery-ness to this bar, but I didn’t see where the cheesecake flavor was coming from at all. The bar is somewhat hard in nature, and it’s kind of a dry texture that really just isn’t that great to be quite honest. It’s not terrible, but far from tasty as well.
The Ansi peanut butter cheesecake bar totals out to 180 calories with the macros of 20p/26c/6f in addition to 20g fiber. The protein sources comes from whey protein isolate and milk protein isolate, so nutritionally this is a solid bar. It’s a shame the taste wasn’t better to justify buying it again.
I do think the Ansi peanut butter cheesecake flavor is the better of the two when you compare it to their cookie dough cheesecake flavor, but that certainly doesn’t make it ‘good’. It’s not an abysmal taste that left me pissed off for wasting money on it, but it’s not a good enough taste that will make me ever want to come back to it. There are just so many other better tasting bars out there with similar macros and fiber content for a similar price.
