B Up Cookie Dough Review

The B Up cookie dough bar and the B Up brand of protein bars in general is a recent discovery for me. I enjoyed the sugar cookie flavor quite a bit so I was really excited to try the cookie dough flavor as that is usually my favorite flavor of protein bars. While it’s not my #1 cookie dough flavor that I’ve tried, it’s easily in the top half. The Quest version and the Combat Crunch version have yet to be topped for me in that flavor.

Size Comparison

The bar totals in at 190 calories with the macros of 20p/25c/7f with 20g of fiber. Excellent macros all around and fairly low in calories. Like the sugar cookie flavor as well, the bar is extremely soft in texture and has a dough-like consistency. I thought that maybe it was just the sugar cookie flavor that had that texture but it seems like all of their flavors do. I can see how this consistency might be a negative for certain flavors, but it manages to work with this flavor as well since the dough-like quality only makes sense when it’s emulating a flavor such as cookie ‘dough’. Like the sugar cookie flavor though, the bar is so soft that it loses shape very easily the second it is held out in the air. It is a little bit sticky in nature as well so it can stick to countertops if left there for awhile.

The bend is real.

The pros outweigh the cons for this bar. It’s not my favorite cookie dough bar ever, but I thoroughly enjoyed this. If I’m going to go with a cookie dough flavor though, I’m more likely to turn to Quest or Oh Yeah! One for the future. I think if I was going the route of wanting a B Up bar, I would probably go for the sugar cookie flavor instead since that is a more unique flavor you don’t find in as many other brands. This cookie dough was good, but it’s simply just been done better. With the 20g of fiber though plus the whey protein isolate/milk protein isolate as the sources of protein, you can’t go wrong with this bar from a nutritional standpoint.
