Let me start this review by saying this; I don’t care too much for pumpkin as a flavor. I don’t hate it by any means, but I would never really choose it over other flavoring options. With the higher fat/calories of this flavor as well, I wasn’t too excited to try the Pumpkin Spice Complete Cookie out, not as excited as I was with tasting some of their other flavors at least. Maybe I should try this ‘not excited’ approach more often, because I ended up REALLY liking this cookie and it’s one of my favorite flavors from them yet!
Pumpkin Spice Complete Cookie Review
If I’m being totally honest, this tasted very similar to their snickerdoodle flavor. I would have to try both of them again (at the same time preferably) to really compare, but my first impression was that the two definitely had some similarities. This definitely isn’t a bad thing though, as I loved the snickerdoodle cookie and it’s debatably my favorite flavor of the ones I’ve tried so far. There’s a distinguishable cinnamon flavor in this cookie and that’s what draws the comparison; it’s a bit toned down compared to the snickerdoodle though. Of course there’s a pumpkin flavor in this cookie as well being, you know, a pumpkin cookie after all, but the pumpkin flavor is only about as strong as the cinnamon and ginger is. Overall, the flavors are pretty balanced and I was pleased to discover the pumpkin taste wasn’t overpowering.
The Pumpkin Spice Complete Cookie totals out to 420 calories for the whole cookie consisting of the macros 16p/58c/14f in addition to 12g fiber… Yikes. Not the most macro friendly cookie unfortunately. A serving is really only ½ cookie so the nutrition facts on the back can be kind of deceiving on first glance. There’s just no way I can realistically only eat half the cookie at once though… I would only be kidding myself and setting myself up for failure. So, seeing as how I HAVE to eat the whole cookie at once, this flavor is quite dense to fit in at times and I think the highest fat and overall calories of all their cookies actually.
All in all, the Pumpkin Spice Complete Cookie was quite delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The combination of pumpkin/cinnamon/ginger/sugar was a true sensation of flavors. The high fat/calories of this particular favorite is pretty depressing though. Seeing as how this has significantly more fat and a bit higher calories than the snickerdoodle flavor while tasting very similar, that makes it very difficult to want to revisit this one again in the future over that one. Once I go back in a gaining phase and my calories are a lot higher, I would come back to this one here and there to switch it up. Due to the higher calories though and because some of the other flavors are just as good if not even a little bit better, I don’t think this would be in my regular rotation of Lenny & Larry’s cookies.
