B Up Chocolate Mint Review

B Up Chocolate Mint

I find Yup’s B Up line of protein bars to be fairly average in general, and I’m not too crazy about mint as a flavor. Bearing that in mind, I didn’t have the highest expectations with the B Up chocolate mint bar and figured I would be pretty unsatisfied when all was said and done. I did my best to keep an open mind though, as you never know when a sleeper hit could come out of nowhere.

It was not this one though. My assumptions were correct, unfortunately… I didn’t really have a satisfiable experience with the B Up chocolate mint bar. The mint taste was definitely present, and TOO present for my liking. I was expecting there to be a stronger chocolate taster considering it occupies half the name, but it takes a backseat to the mint flavor which is truly unfortunate. Besides that the bar doesn’t too anything special or unique either, there are no mix-ins at all. The texture and consistency is very soft and dough-like which could be enjoyable if the base flavor was awesome, but for a strong mint flavor to have no type of crunch or mix-ins to break up that taste here and here is definitely too much.

Size Comparison

There are some good things about this bar, however… The nutrition. The B Up chocolate mint flavor totals out to 180 calories consisting of the macros of 20p/27c/6f in addition to 20g fiber. Like all the other B Up flavors, the fiber is very high so it’s a huge help in meeting your daily intake. Besides that, this is pretty average as far as B Up macros go.

B Up Chocolate MintMeh. Just meh. That’s probably the best word to describe the B Up chocolate mint bar. I mean, maybe if you REALLY loved mint then you might enjoy this bar, but even still I really don’t see how you could enjoy it over better flavors like their vanilla peanut butter, PB&J and even their sugar cookie. I know I don’t really like mint so you may think my opinion is biased, but I do genuinely like some mint flavored bars. The Quest chocolate mint chunk flavor is delicious for example, as I rated that flavor somewhere in the ‘A’ range. I can’t recommend this bar when B Up has better flavors to offer and when the chocolate mint flavor has been far better executed elsewhere.
