Buff Bake Frosted Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Review

Buff Bake Frosted Oatmeal Raisin

It’s always a good day when I discover another brand of protein cookies. I’ve heard of Buff Bake’s peanut butter and almond butter before, but I’ve yet to try any products like that because they’re insanely hard to fit in my current poverty macros being that I’m 4 weeks out as I write this. It was hard enough to make this fit, but I timed it on a refeed day so it was workable. I ordered all three of their flavors, but ultimately decided on the Buff Bake Frosted Oatmeal Raisin cookie to be the first one I would try considering it had the lowest amount of calories.

Buff Bake Frosted Oatmeal Raisin

On first sight, the Buff Bake Frosted Oatmeal Raisin cookie looks beautiful. Quite an elegant appearance, really. The frosted stripes really add an artistic touch, so the presentation factor is definitely there. Size wise, it’s fairly big but I would say overall it’s a little bit smaller than a Lenny & Larry’s cookie. Now, on to the taste… It was good. I will say that. It wasn’t ‘great’ though. The cookie itself has more of airy feel to it and you don’t feel like you’re getting as much with each bite as you would in a Lenny & Larry’s cookie. Considering it does have less calories though, I suppose that kind of makes sense. The flavor is enjoyable and accurate, even if it’s not as packed with as much flavor as it could be. The flavors that are present however do their part and taste just like their described. The frosted stripes are maybe the best part of the whole cookie, but even still they don’t have a big enough impact to completely make up for the slightly airy/hollow taste to the cookie.

Size Comparison

The Buff Bake Frosted Oatmeal Raisin flavor totals out to 300 calories for the whole cookie consisting of the macros 16p/44c/9f in addition to 2g fiber. Lower calories and carbs than Lenny & Larry’s cookies, so it has that edge on them. However, the cookie is also smaller so realistically, they’re probably about even when it comes to calories.

Buff Bake Frosted Oatmeal RaisinPretty good, but not amazing. That about sums up my thoughts on the Buff Bake Frosted Oatmeal Raisin cookie. I wasn’t disappointed by it at all, but it also didn’t blow me away by any means either. I’m hoping their other flavors are a bit better, and based on the descriptions it seems I’ll be very likely to enjoy them more (white chocolate peanut butter and chocolate chip peanut butter, **** yeah). This was a good take on a protein cookie, but when Lenny & Larry’s Complete Cookies are even better with more fiber, this is hard to recommend. If we’re comparing oatmeal flavors directly between the two brands, I think Lenny & Larry’s still has the edge.
