I didn’t like oatmeal as a kid, and I never liked raisins either. I have grown to enjoy oatmeal as I’ve gotten older though, especially oatmeal based flavors of cookies or ice cream. I’ve never turned my opinion around on raisins however as I’m still not a fan to this day. Bearing that in mind it seemed like I would have mixed thoughts on this specific flavor, but it would really just come down to whether the oatmeal or raisin flavor took the starring role. Read my Oatmeal Raisin Complete Cookie review to find out who took the backseat and who took the lead.
Oatmeal Raisin Complete Cookie Review
Fortunately for my sake, the oatmeal had more of an impact on the flavor of this cookie compared to the raisin. The actual base flavor of the cookie is like a combination of oatmeal/raisin/cinnamon/vanilla with the biggest emphasis placed on the oatmeal. The raisins, being pretty small in nature, don’t contribute too much to the taste thankfully since they only come in the form of little raisin bits spread throughout the cookie, so not every bite contains the taste of raisins. Texturally, this flavor isn’t quite as soft as some of their other flavors when it comes to chewing. It is naturally expected due to the oatmeal, but I do prefer the texture of their softer cookies instead.
The calories for the whole cookie total out to 380 calories consisting of the macros 16p/60c/8f in addition to 6g fiber. Interesting nutritional profile on this one. The overall calories are pretty average, however the fat content is tied for the lowest out of all their flavors while the carbs are actually the highest of any other flavor. Not only that, there’s only 6g fiber in this flavor compared to the usual 8g, which is honestly really weird and surprising considering oatmeal naturally has fiber in it so you would think this flavor would have more instead, not less. Whether you like the macro profile on this flavor will really just depend if your macros are more low fat/high carbs or low carbs/high fat. My macros are usually more towards low fat/high carbs, so this flavor works pretty well with my ratio.
The Oatmeal Raisin Complete Cookie review comes to an end. All in all, it was a fairly enjoyable cookie. The raisin taste wasn’t too overpowering and the oatmeal taste was pretty good I will say. It’s not as soft as some of their other flavors though, and in general I would say this is one of their weaker flavors. The low fat content is really awesome, but it’s the same fat as their snickerdoodle and birthday cake flavors as well which I happened to enjoy more. With that fact I can’t say for sure if I I’ll ever revisit this flavor, but I liked it for what it was.
+16g protein per cookie
+6g fiber per cookie
-One of the weaker Complete Cookie flavors
-High in carbs and calories
Recommended: Not over their other flavors
