The first Venture bar I tried was their cookie dough flavor, which I did really enjoy and thought it was one of the best Quest cookie dough imitators out there. However, it was the dark chocolate chips that put it over the edge and the base flavor of the bar itself wasn’t anything mind-blowing. Considering the Venture Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge bar only has peanuts for mix-ins which are just okay to me, I know the base flavor of this bar is going to have to really shine if I’m going to like it as much as their cookie dough flavor.
Venture Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge Review
The Venture Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge bar looks good in appearance, but a little on the small side. Unfortunately, the flavor of the bar itself didn’t shine as much as I was hoping. The flavors are there, I suppose, as I can taste each component of the chocolate peanut butter fudge mixture. It’s just not executed that well in my opinion. It wasn’t a chore to eat by any means as I did enjoy it still, it just didn’t do anything to really captivate me. It’s just kind of a bland chocolatey taste with a slight hint of peanut butter in there. The real peanut mix-ins are nice as they provide a good crunch for textural purposes here and there, but they don’t really elevate the overall flavor too much.
The Venture Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge bar totals out to 230 calories consisting of the macros 20p/28c/10f in addition to 18g fiber. While the flavor of this bar isn’t amazing, the nutrition is at least pretty solid as it contains a lot of fiber and quality protein sources. However, the macros still pale in comparison to most other good protein bars out there that have less fat/carbs/calories in general.
Eh… Even though I really liked the cookie dough flavor, I have to say I was kind of let down with this one. The Venture Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge bar didn’t really perform up to expectations. The flavor of the bar itself was just kind of average, and tasted very similar (maybe slightly worse) to the Quest chocolate peanut butter bar, which is also pretty average and of the weaker Quest flavors. The peanut mix-ins maybe put this bar on par with that one, but being able to match one of Quest’s weakest offerings isn’t really much to write home about. I can’t really recommend this bar when there are better chocolate peanut butter bars out there with better macros.
