Arctic Zero Cool Mint Review

Arctic Zero Cool Mint

I’m trying to think of some positives in trying out the Arctic Zero Cool Mint pint… But I’m really struggling to find any. First of all, I’m not really a fan of mint ice cream. I mean it’s okay, I don’t dislike it, but when I have all these other delicious flavors of ice cream at my disposal to choose from, I can’t say mint ever passes that cut. Secondly, this pint of Arctic Zero is 300 calories compared to the usual 150 because it’s a ‘chunky’ flavor. That’s due to the inclusion of chocolate chips which will be a very nice addition for the added flavor/texture I admit, but at the same time I’m not too thrilled about spending an extra 150 calories on a flavor I’m not too crazy about in the first place.

Arctic Zero Cool Mint

Upon opening the pint, I’m greeted by straight up green, mint ice cream… Joy. At least their hint of mint pint was chocolatey in appearance and contained a stronger chocolate flavor than mint, but unfortunately this flavor looks to be the exact opposite… And it was to an extent. It did taste pretty similar to the base of the hint of mint flavor, but a little bit more on the minty side. Luckily, this pint contains chocolate chips to give you more of a chocolatey taste here and there, not to mention some much needed crunch. Is it the worth the extra 150 calories though? I don’t know, that’s a good question. This pint would suck even more without them, so maybe.

Arctic Zero Cool MintThe Arctic Zero Cool Mint flavor totals out to 300 calories for the whole pint consisting of the macros 12p/44c/8f in addition to 12g fiber. Pretty standard as far as their chunky pints go, but eh, I don’t think this flavor was worth the extra 150 calories really. I would opt for most of their other chunky pint flavors instead.

I mean the chocolate chips were definitely nice and helped an otherwise complete failure of a pint, but at the same time I would never pick this flavor over most of their other 300 calorie flavors, or even a couple of their 150 calorie flavors. If you really love mint then maybe that would change for you, but I still can’t really see how someone could enjoy this one over the cookie dough, brownie blast or snickerdoodle dandy pints. Plus if you’re looking for some minty protein ice cream, for an extra 60 calories for the Enlightened chocolate mint is superior in every possible way, from overall flavor to texture.
