After the huge let down that are Fit Elite bars, Robert Irvine is really winning me over with his Fit Crunch bars. I’ve only tried the peanut butter and cookies and cream flavors so far, but they were DECLICIOUS. The variety of textures and components really impressed me. Cookie dough is perhaps most consistently my favorite flavor of protein bars, so I had VERY high hopes diving on into the Fit Crunch Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough bar.
Fit Crunch Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Review
Robert Irvine once again delivered. The Fit Crunch Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough bar was PACKED full of flavor. The combination of textures is really helps propel the bar to new heights. You have the harder chocolatey coating on the outside, the dual layers of soft chocolate and cookie dough on the inside, and little crispy chocolate chips spread throughout the bar. You get crunch/crisp/softness all in one bite… It’s simply epic. The cookie dough flavor is really spot on as well, it doesn’t have any type of artificial/fake taste to it that cookie dough can sometimes have; it hits JUST the right amount of sweetness.
The Fit Crunch Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough bar totals out to 190 calories consisting of the macros 16p/14c/8f in addition to 1g fiber. Like the other Fit Crunch bars… You’re not really buying these for the great macros or solid nutritional profile, you buy these for the taste alone (and to hit a little protein in the process). It’s important to note that this is the smaller of the two sizes the bar comes in as well; the regular sized bar has near double the calories.
Another home run for Robert Irvine, the Fit Crunch Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough bar was amazing in every possible way. From the great cookie dough flavor to the combination of textures… Truly an incredible experience. In my opinion, this is probably tied for the best tasting cookie dough protein bar out there with Quest, and there are a LOT of cookie dough bars out there. However, the Quest bar has FAR better macros, more fiber and higher quality protein sources though, so in all honesty I’m still more likely to return to Quest if I want a cookie dough flavored protein bar. They are vastly different in texture/overall taste though, so I think there’s room for both in the industry. The texture/taste of this bar is far more comparable to Combat Crunch’s cookie dough bar, which I find this one to be superior to. The Combat Crunch bar does have a better nutritional profile as well, so even that may not be the most fair comparison. I still have yet to try the birthday cake flavor from Fit Crunch which I’ve heard amazing things about, but out of the other two flavors that I’ve tried, I would place this one in second behind the peanut butter but ahead of the cookies and cream.
+Awesome taste/texture, maybe the best cookie dough bar out there depending on your preference
+Whey protein isolate
-Only 1g fiber
-Uses some soy protein
-High in calories, overall not the best nutritional profile
Recommended: Yes (taste alone)
