Lift Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Review

Lift Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

My first experience with these Atkins Lift bars came with their salted caramel crunch flavor. It took me by surprise with how excellent the nutritional profile it was for not ever having heard of them until then, not to mention the taste was pretty good as well. Cookie dough is my favorite flavor of protein bars generally speaking, so my interest was peaked to see how the Lift Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough bar compared to all of the other competing brands with the same flavor out there.

Upon opening from the wrapper I’m instantly greeted by an array of chocolate chips, so the bar looks to be very chocolatey which makes me happy. When I took the first bite though, the chocolate chips didn’t provide as much crunch or chocolatey flavor as I was hoping for though, they have more of a crispy texture than anything which was still enjoyable, I just felt that more of a crunch would have made a bigger impact on the overall experience. Due to the sheer number of them they still give you an adequate burst of chocolatey flavor though, which is much needed considering the base cookie dough flavor of the bar itself is nothing special. It’s okay, but it has nothing on the Quest version. The texture is soft to a degree, but not as soft/chewable as most other cookie dough bars out there.

Size Comparison

The Lift Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough bar totals out to 200 calories consisting of the macros 21p/26c/4f in addition to 16g fiber. The same macros/caloric content as other Lift bars is nice to see just to keep things consistent. The total calories are pretty average as far as most protein bars go, but the fat content is definitely lower than most other cookie dough bars out there. In fact off the top of my head, this bar may contain the lowest amount of fat I’ve ever seen in a cookie dough flavored protein bar.

Lift Chocolate Chip Cookie DoughAll in all, I felt pretty similarly about the Lift Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough bar as I did with their salted caramel crunch flavor. The macros and overall nutritional profile are top notch, but the flavor could have been improved a bit. It was certainly enjoyable still and far from one of the worst cookie dough flavored protein bars out there, but it also wasn’t the best either as I can think of at least five others off the top of my head that I enjoyed more. Cookie dough is an extremely popular flavor though that every company has, so there are a LOT of cookie dough bars out there to be fair. This does contain the lowest amount of fat out of all cookie dough bars however, so if you’re fat is SUPER low and you’re really monitoring that closely, then this could maybe have its place here and here.
