My first experience with Quest’s protein chips came with their BBQ flavor. I thought the BBQ seasoning itself was really good, but the texture was really lacking density to it in general. However, the macros are absolutely insane so the lack of texture is easily forgiven. The Quest Cheddar Sour Cream Protein Chips have the same macros so I’m expecting the same hollowness unfortunately, but the the flavor sounds delicious so I’m hoping the seasoning is on point.
Quest Cheddar Sour Cream Chips Review
Good lord! And on point it was to say the least. These ones were WAY more flavorful than the BBQ chips even, and I really loved those ones too. Not only is the flavor just DELICIOUS, but I feel like there’s actually more seasoning on these compared to the BBQ chips. Like the chips look just covered in cheesy seasoning to where it looks straight yellow/orange in appearance, you can barely even see any of the whiteness from the actual chip. As expected, the lack of density is definitely still there unfortunately. You do get a lot of chips in the bag though so you can make it crunchy for sure, they just don’t have as much substance to them individually. The amazing flavor of the seasoning helps offset the texture in my opinion as well.
The Quest Cheddar Sour Cream Protein Chips total out to 120 calories for the whole bag consisting of the macros 21p/5c/2f with 0g fiber. The lack of fiber is forgiven because ****, look at those macros! Just ridiculous. For a whole bag of chips to barely contain any carbs and mainly all protein… Wow. I don’t know how they did it.
This is perhaps the best savory protein snack on the market in my opinion, at the time I write this review at least so that could definitely change in the future. There’s really not too much competition out there I suppose (yet), but still. When you take into consideration all the positives it has like AMAZING macros, super low calories, delicious seasoning… It’s easy to see why the Quest Cheddar Sour Cream Protein Chips are such a hit. If you’re looking for some protein to snack on in the form of a chip, look no further. Just don’t go into it expecting the texture of a normal potato chip or you’ll be a bit disappointed.
