So… We meet again. I tried this same flavor earlier in the year (well it didn’t have the chocolate aspect), and I was not a fan at all. However, that was with their old formula in their old packaging that they have completely discontinued. I tried their new bars recently and the experience went MUCH better. Like exponentially better. Like so much better, that I’m convinced that I had a ‘bad’ batch the first time I tried them. Nevertheless, let’s see how the new formula compares in my Ansi Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake review.
Ansi Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake Review
The bar features a chocolate coating on the bottom, like their other new flavors. The other new bars were completely new flavors altogether so that feature wasn’t as surprising, but considering they’ve already had this same flavor before (very similar at least), I wasn’t really expecting it with this one. Definitely a welcome sight though. Besides that, this bar was TOTALLY different in every way in comparison to their old formula. The peanut butter taste was stronger, the texture was WAY softer, and overall it was just more enjoyable. I didn’t find the chocolate or cheesecake flavors to be too prominent but the overall flavor was still solid. If there was ever an award for most drastically improved protein bars, this one might take the top honors.
The Ansi Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake bar totals out to 220 calories consisting of the macros 20p/26c/9f in addition to 20g fiber. This bar sports some of the very best nutritional content in the game, for sure. Whey protein? Check? High fiber? Check. Less than 10g fat and 30g more carbs? Check. The fact that 20g of the 26g carbs comes from fiber is pretty mind blowing but pretty awesome. This flavor has a little higher fat than their other two new flavors, but it’s a small flaw.
Overall, this bar was light years ahead of their similarly flavored old formula. They really did their research when making these new ones. The chocolate coating on the bottom is a nice feature for both the added taste and extra aesthetics. The biggest difference I can remember from their old bars though is the texture. Their old bars were practically Geodude solid, but these new bars are MUCH softer and way more enjoyable to chew through. My hat goes off to you Ansi. I wasn’t a fan before, but you’ve shown me the light and have successfully converted me. This one gets a definite recommendation from me, as do all their other new flavors.
