Fit Crunch Birthday Cake Review

The moment has come. I’m FINALLY trying what is considered to be the holy grail of protein bars by many people. I’ve heard from numerous others about how this is the best tasting protein bar on the market. I’ve been putting off trying it for so long because it is calorically dense and I was prepping for my pro debut on poverty macros. Now that my contest season is over though, I can finally fit this beast in. I’m getting anxious just staring down at the bar as I type this so let’s waste no more time and begin this Fit Crunch Birthday Cake review.

Fit Crunch Birthday Cake Review

Holy ****. This is the real deal boys and girls. Everything about this bar is pretty damn amazing. This is probably my favorite Fit Crunch flavor based off first impression. The soft baked texture provides a good firmness on the outside, but nice chewiness on the inside. It’s a good balance. I will be honest though, while this did taste outstanding, I thought the birthday cake flavor could have been more accurate. It kind of tasted like a mixture of vanilla/fruity pebbles with a bit of birthday cake in there as opposed to straight up birthday cake. Maybe I’m just nitpicking because I’ve heard such great things but regardless, it was still incredibly delicious.

Fit Crunch Birthday Cake Review

Size Comparison

Now, the bad. The Fit Crunch Birthday Cake flavor totals out to 380 calories consisting of the macros 30p/27c/16f in addition to 2g fiber. Yeah… Definitely not the best nutritional profile that’s for sure. The 30g protein is really high and nice to see higher than the carbs, but the 16g fat really throws off the macros and brings up the total caloric count by a large amount.

Fit Crunch Birthday Cake ReviewI knew this Fit Crunch Birthday Cake review was long overdue so I’m glad to have finally joined the rest of the fitness world in trying it out. If I’m being completely honest though, I do think it is slightly overhyped. It was damn good, but it really wasn’t much better than some other birthday cake bars that I’ve tried. It tasted pretty similar to the Combat Crunch Birthday Cake bar, just slightly better. I still think the Oh Yeah! One Birthday Cake bar BARELY edges this one out, but I need to have more of these to say for sure. Regardless I don’t think I can call this the best tasting protein bar on the market though, in my personal opinion at least. Top 5 for me taste wise? Easily. Top 3? Probably. The VERY best though? I don’t know about that, that’s a pretty bold statement. If you like birthday cake as a flavor and/or Fit Crunch bars, then waste no more time and track this bad boy down NOW. Assuming you have the calories to spare.

Fit Crunch Birthday Cake Review

Birthday cake bliss.

Pros

+Absolutely incredible taste and texture

+Whey protein isolate

Cons

-High in fat and overall calories

-Uses some soy protein

-Only 2g fiber

Lift Chocolate Brownie Almond

It’s been awhile since I’ve tried one of these Lifts bars. I enjoyed their salted caramel and cookie dough flavors though so I’m expecting this one to be pretty good as well. Only one way to find out for sure, so let’s waste no more time and begin this Lift Chocolate Brownie Almond review.

Lift Chocolate Brownie Almond

Like their other flavors, this bar sports a pretty decorated appearance with a bunch of mix-ins in plain sight. It’s got the same slight crispiness to it as well; it’s certainly not like a Quest bar in texture. The brownie flavor is accurate and on point. Some brownie flavored protein bars just taste like chocolate and not necessarily a brownie, but this one actually has a brownie taste to it. The almonds actually don’t add a whole lot of impact to this bar, which is fine by me because I’m not crazy about almonds. I could taste them a little bit, but based on the appearance of the bar I was expecting them to have much more of a role.

Lift Chocolate Brownie Almond

Size Comparison

The Lift Chocolate Brownie Almond bar totals out to 21p/25c/4.5f in addition to 16g fiber. Okay, the fact that this bar contains as many almonds as it does yet only has 4.5g fat is pretty mind blowing, but I’m definitely okay with it. Overall, the macros on this bar are outstanding.

Lift Chocolate Brownie AlmondWhile I wasn’t absolutely blown away, I did enjoy this bar substantially. It’s pretty unique in nature with it’s slightly crispy texture, not a lot of other protein bars have the same consistency. I’d put this flavor right up there with the salted caramel and the cookie dough; they’re all fairly equal and it’s just going to come down to whatever flavor your prefer in general.

Lift Chocolate Brownie Almond

Has a nice crisp to it.

Pros

+The slightly crispy texture is nice

+Whey protein isolate

+16g fiber

+Only 4.5g fat

Cons

-Almonds could have had more of an impact

Bonk Breaker Cookies

Bonk Breaker. Haha. That’s a funny name. I don’t know why, but it is. This little thing caught my eye due to the name and its packaging; I couldn’t tell what it is. Is it a bar? A cookie? A brownie? A ball of granola? I don’t know, so I had to purchase this Bonk Breaker Cookies & Cream flavor to find out for sure.

Bonk Breaker Cookies

Well, I guess it’s a form of a bar. Just a very… Small one. Yikes, this is pretty disheartening to see. This thing is tiny. The taste isn’t bad though. It kind of reminds of No Cow bars a little bit due to the gritty texture. While the flavor was enjoyable, it didn’t taste much like cookies & cream to me. There were some slight chunks of cream in there which added a nice boost of flavor here and there, but I didn’t really taste the ‘cookies’ aspect.

Bonk Breaker Cookies

Size Comparison

The Bonk Breaker Cookies & Cream flavor totals out to 250 calories consisting of the macros 13p/34c/9f in addition to 4g fiber. Man, to make up for the small size of the bar this really could have used some more protein. The overall calories aren’t too bad relatively speaking, but considering the size of the bar, they actually are.

Bonk Breaker CookiesI guess I have mixed thoughts about this product. The taste was pretty good and enjoyable, but the macros aren’t very good, there isn’t a lot of protein, and it’s SO small that it’s not very filling at all as you can eat it in like 3 bites. If there was more protein this would be a much better product because the taste isn’t bad, but due to it being so tiny as well, I can’t really recommend this.

Bonk Breaker Cookies

What it lacks in length, it makes up for in thickness (insert sex reference here)

Pros

+Pretty good taste

+Vegan I think? (It uses rice protein if that’s your thing)

Cons

-Very small and not very filling

-Only 13g protein and 4g fiber despite 34g carbs

Ansi Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake review

So… We meet again. I tried this same flavor earlier in the year (well it didn’t have the chocolate aspect), and I was not a fan at all. However, that was with their old formula in their old packaging that they have completely discontinued. I tried their new bars recently and the experience went MUCH better. Like exponentially better. Like so much better, that I’m convinced that I had a ‘bad’ batch the first time I tried them. Nevertheless, let’s see how the new formula compares in my Ansi Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake review.

Ansi Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake review

The bar features a chocolate coating on the bottom, like their other new flavors. The other new bars were completely new flavors altogether so that feature wasn’t as surprising, but considering they’ve already had this same flavor before (very similar at least), I wasn’t really expecting it with this one. Definitely a welcome sight though. Besides that, this bar was TOTALLY different in every way in comparison to their old formula. The peanut butter taste was stronger, the texture was WAY softer, and overall it was just more enjoyable. I didn’t find the chocolate or cheesecake flavors to be too prominent but the overall flavor was still solid. If there was ever an award for most drastically improved protein bars, this one might take the top honors.

Ansi Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake review

Size Comparison

The Ansi Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake bar totals out to 220 calories consisting of the macros 20p/26c/9f in addition to 20g fiber. This bar sports some of the very best nutritional content in the game, for sure. Whey protein? Check? High fiber? Check. Less than 10g fat and 30g more carbs? Check. The fact that 20g of the 26g carbs comes from fiber is pretty mind blowing but pretty awesome. This flavor has a little higher fat than their other two new flavors, but it’s a small flaw.

Ansi Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake reviewOverall, this bar was light years ahead of their similarly flavored old formula. They really did their research when making these new ones. The chocolate coating on the bottom is a nice feature for both the added taste and extra aesthetics. The biggest difference I can remember from their old bars though is the texture. Their old bars were practically Geodude solid, but these new bars are MUCH softer and way more enjoyable to chew through. My hat goes off to you Ansi. I wasn’t a fan before, but you’ve shown me the light and have successfully converted me. This one gets a definite recommendation from me, as do all their other new flavors.

Ansi Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake review

Not much to look at on the inside, but there is more than meets the eye.

Pros

+Whey protein isolate

+20g fiber

+Chocolate coating on bottom is a nice edition

Cons

-Maybe could use some mix-ins

Power Crunch Mocha Crème review

I always welcome the sight of a new Power Crunch flavor. These bars or wafers or cookies or whatever you want to call them, are awesome. Power Crunch Mocha Crème review

This flavor looks no different than most of their other chocolatey flavors on the outside. It tastes just as good, if not better than most of them too. I’m actually shocked with how much I enjoyed this one, as it might be my second favorite flavor behind their cookies & cream. It was like a combination of mocha/chocolate flavors, and it was fairly balanced at that. Sometimes in mocha flavored products, the coffee taste can be a little too strong which brings down the overall experience.. This one was just right.

Power Crunch Mocha Crème review

Size Comparison

The Power Crunch Mocha Crème flavor totals out to 205 calories consisting of the macros 13p/10c/13f in addition to 1g fiber, so basically none. All of the Power Crunch flavors are extremely similar in calories and macros but if you really want to nitpick, I believe this specific one has 5 more calories, 1g more fat and 1-2g more carbs than about half of their other flavors. It’s the end of the world, I know.

Power Crunch Mocha Crème reviewI generally like peanut butter based flavors more than mocha or coffee, so the fact that I enjoyed this one more than their two peanut buttery flavors came across as pretty surprising to me as I was finishing up this Power Crunch Mocha Crème review. The execution was just better though in my opinion. If you’ve liked any of the other Power Crunch flavors and/or are a fan of mocha, then I’m fairly confident that you will LOVE this bar/cookie/wafer. Try it out.

A mocha flavored cookie wafer? Hell yes.

Pros

+Amazing texture and taste

Cons

Power Crunch Crisp Chocolate Brownie Wonder

If you’ve read any of my other reviews then it should come as no surprise that I’m a big fan of all things related to Power Crunch. While there have been some flavors that I’ve enjoyed more than others, there’s never been a flavor that I didn’t enjoy at all. These new ‘Crisp’ bars are no exception. I saved the best for last with the Power Crunch Crisp Chocolate Brownie Wonder.

Very similar to their other crisp flavors in texture; nice and crispy on the outside, very soft and chewy on the inside. I found this to be the best out of all their crisp bars, personally. The milk chocolate flavor was sweet, but not too sweet. I didn’t really get so much of a ‘brownie’ taste, but more of just a chocolatey taste in general. Regardless, it was good.

Power Crunch Crisp Chocolate Brownie Wonder

Size Comparison

The Power Crunch Crisp Chocolate Brownie Wonder bar totals out to 180 calories consisting of the macros 13p/14c/9f in addition to 3g fiber. Unfortunately this flavor has a little more fat than their other ones. Like their other flavors though, while the overall calories on this bar are very manageable, the actual macros aren”t that great as the protein could stand to be higher.

Power Crunch Crisp Chocolate Brownie WonderWhile I have loved all of the Crisp bars that I’ve tried, I have to say that this one has definitely been my favorite so far. Even though it didn’t taste exactly like a brownie, the chocolatey taste it did have was super delicious. If you’ve enjoyed any other Power Crunch products, especially their chocolate flavored ones, do your taste buds a favor and give this one a whirl.

Power Crunch Crisp Chocolate Brownie Wonder

Fit Joy Chocolate Iced Brownie

Another Fit Joy flavor to get my hands on. These bars haven’t officially been released yet, but the company who makes them was nice enough to send me some to try out beforehand. Fit Joy Chocolate Iced Brownie

Like their chocolate peanut butter and frosted cinnamon roll flavors, this one has quite the decorated appearance. It didn’t taste as complex as the top of it made it look however as the nuts didn’t have as big of an impact as I thought they would, but it was still really tasty. It has a soft and chewy texture, and brownie flavor is pretty accurate. Some brownie flavored protein bars taste more like milk chocolate than anything, but this one had a legitimate brownie taste to it.

Fit Joy Chocolate Iced Brownie

Size Comparison

The Fit Joy Chocolate Iced Brownie flavor totals out to 230 calories consisting of the macros 20p/25c/8f in addition to 12g fiber. This is the same macros as their frosted cinnamon roll flavor but 1g higher fat than all of their others.

Fit Joy Chocolate Iced BrownieI’m glad I decided to try out this flavor as my last one from Fit Joy; it was a great note to end on. The chewy texture and accurate brownie flavor made me a fan. This is probably one of the better brownie flavored protein bars out there I would say, but I still think the flavor has yet to be executed as good as it could be. This is a great effort though regardless so if you like brownies, give this one a go.

Fit Joy Mint Chocolate Crisp

Three flavors down, two more to go. Fit Joy sent me five of their protein bars to try out before they officially release them to the public. As I’ve said in every other on of their reviews so far; these are all my own thoughts and they are not paying me in any way to favorably review these products. I’ve enjoyed the frosted cinnamon roll, chocolate peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie dough flavors so far, so let’s see how the Fit Joy Mint Chocolate Crisp bar stacks up in comparison.

Fit Joy Mint Chocolate Crisp

Not as good of a first impression as far as appearances go when compared to the frosted cinnamon roll and chocolate peanut butter flavors. This one looks pretty plain with not a whole lot going on. Unfortunately, it tasted every bit of plain as it looked. I’m a little biased I admit as I’m not crazy about mint flavored protein bars in general, but regardless this one didn’t do anything special that I haven’t seen on another mint flavored protein bar. The texture was pretty soft which was the highlight I guess, but the mint flavor was a little too strong for my liking while the chocolate flavor wasn’t strong enough.

Fit Joy Mint Chocolate Crisp

Size Comparison

The Fit Joy Mint Chocolate Crisp bar totals out to 220 calories consisting of the macros 20p/25c/7f in addition to 13g fiber. Pretty good macros all around and the exact same as their chocolate chip cookie dough flavor.

Fit Joy Mint Chocolate CrispI wasn’t as impressed with this flavor to be quite honest. The minty flavor was just too strong for me. If the chocolatey flavor was stronger to offset it or if the bar had some mix-ins for extra flavor and/or texture, it would have helped immensely. In its current state though… It was just nothing special. There are better mint flavored protein bars out there, like the Quest mint chunk bar for example which is still probably my favorite mint flavored protein bar. This wasn’t a bad bar; it’s just been done better.

Fit Joy Mint Chocolate Crisp

Not as good as their other flavors.

Pros

+Whey protein isolate

+13g fiber

Cons

-Could use stronger chocolatey flavor and some mix-ins

-Better mint flavored protein bars out there

Fit Joy Chocolate Peanut Butter

Like their frosted cinnamon roll flavor, this one has a pretty aesthetic appearance too. The bottom is covered in a peanut buttery coating while the top is chocolatey with a bunch of nuts in scattered all over in plain sight. Definitely one of the more unique chocolate peanut butter protein bars that I’ve seen. The texture was fairly soft and chewy; similar to a Quest bar in a way just a bit more chewy. I thought the peanut butter flavor could have been more accurate though; it didn’t taste like real peanut butter but more like a fake version of it. It wasn’t bad, just could have been better. The chocolate was pretty good though and even though the nuts didn’t add as much as I thought they would, they were still a nice textural component.

Fit Joy Chocolate Peanut Butter

Size Comparison

The Fit Joy Chocolate Peanut Butter flavor totals out to 220 calories consisting of the macros 20p/24c/7f in addition to 12g fiber. Peanut butter based bars are usually a bit higher in fat so seeing this one at only 7g was a nice sight. I guess that’s why the peanut butter didn’t taste too authentic though.

Fit Joy Chocolate Peanut ButterI believe they have another winner on their hands here with the Fit Joy Chocolate Peanut Butter bar. While I didn’t enjoy this one as much as their frosted cinnamon roll flavor, I still liked it a lot and thought it was one of the better chocolate peanut butter protein bars out there, especially for the macros. A lot of them are pretty plain and boring but this one had some features that set it apart a bit. If you like chocolate and/or peanut butter, give this one a shot to see how you like it yourself.

Fit Joy Chocolate Peanut Butter

-Peanut butter could be more flavorful

-Nuts could have been crunchier

Okay, now onto the Fit Joy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavor which marks the third flavor in their new line of protein bars that I’m trying out. Fit Joy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

The frosted cinnamon roll and chocolate peanut butter flavors sported some decorative appearances, however this one does not. It’s pretty plain looking and looks like your typical cookie dough flavored protein bar. It’s a little messy looking in all honesty, but Fit Joy did say these products were not final and would be further improved upon. This one was MUCH softer than the other two flavors I tried as well, I guess they were really trying to go for the ‘dough’ aspect here. The actual flavor was fairly enjoyable, but it wasn’t anything ridiculously good as I thought it could have been a touch sweeter. The chocolate chips didn’t have as much impact as I thought they would either.

Fit Joy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Size Comparison

The Fit Joy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavor totals out to 220 calories consisting of the macros 20p/25c/7f in addition to 13g fiber. The macros are pretty good for a cookie dough flavored protein bar considering the fat is only at 7g compared to the Quest cookie dough bar which has 9g, but then again the Quest version has less calories too which is arguably more important.

Fit Joy Chocolate Chip Cookie DoughI wasn’t as impressed with this one compared to their frosted cinnamon roll and chocolate peanut butter flavors. Those bars were more unique and did more to make them stand out amongst the same flavors from rival companies, but this one was a different story. This bar was basically no different than any other cookie dough flavored protein bar out there down from texture to appearance and to an extent, taste. This is not a bad protein bar by any means and I did enjoy it, but there are just better cookie dough flavored protein bars out there, and some even with less calories. It’s hard to recommend this one with those facts in mind.

Fit Joy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

It was hard to take a good picture because it’s not very thick.

Pros

+Whey protein isolate

+13g fiber

Cons

-Could be sweeter/more flavorful

-Better cookie dough flavored protein bars out there
